"Education should bring peace and prosperity to a nation" 

This adage was most cherished by the founder and manager of this school, Jubilant Mr. P. Ramamoorthy , a man of iron-stone, has relished the essence of educating thousands of students who mostly have come from remote areas in our locality. One would find it quite interesting and inquisitive to know about the facts like how and when the school had been started? 

Yes, one can't believe it easily that the school had been started during the British rule in India in 1940 when the whole society was in the darkness of illiteracy and ignorant and superstitious beliefs to remove the stagnancies and duly infused prudent dynamism in the society the enchanted founder caused to this. Considering the poverty of the en masse he introduced the mid day meals scheme in 1945 with the help of Revered Dr. Sri Venkatramaiyar, Social welfare unit , CARE, USA and other eminent persons of Melur. It won't be to exaggerative if one say's that Mr. P. Ramamoorthy is one of the pioneers in introducing mid day meals scheme which the testimonies and photographs proves. 

Another hall mark in the retrospect of this school is that it had availed space for running Govt Arts College from 1967 to 1970 within its premises , which is now one of the important educational center for higher studies at Melur. In 1965 the school celebrated silver jubilee year. The standard of education provided to the students was a striking one that the students who did higher classes in other schools shone bright. But , to a shock, due to unavoidable situation the school was closed once for all in 1966. 

Then again out of sheer hard work and try the founder reopened the school the next year in 1967 just with two students. Since then it has been grown gradually into a quite big school having classes up to 5th std, providing both Tamil and English medium till 1992. 1992 onward in concordance with the changing phase of educational pattern, the school was expanded into a matric school which had sent its first batch of 10th std in 1995-1996. Simultaneously the school was transcended into matric higher secondary school in 1997-1998. From that time onward the school have been producing a number of meritorious and successful candidates in the consecutive years. 

During the past decade, the school has constructed a three storied building for academic purpose, accomplished with science lab, computer lab, library and multipurpose hall. The iridescent itinerary of the institution in past ten years is invincible an the field of education oriented social development. Its epithet is filled with convincing and charming occasions in the objective of creating a sustainable society in balance with the of conscience modern civilization and globalization as well as not deviating away from the concept of Indianess. 

This institution, an emblem of swikeing achievement in the educational field , had persevered to sprout sprucely in the view of the society because of its unique qualities such as : 

• The intention of the institution is to bring out a wholesome development among the students. 

• Regular yoga sessions to all students, to have them a strong body and sound mind. 

• Stupendous care in linguistic studies 

• Renascent achievement at every academic results 

• Fabulous cash awards, scholarships and fee concessions to the out standing students, have stimulated many students to produce explicit performance and have evoked undeniable enthusiasm among the students. 

Addendum:
Even though the school is making high achievements, it is unwise and unhealthy to sustain here in future admidst noise pollution, air pollution, lack of spaciousness etc, as it is situated at the center of the town. In spite of the financial shortages the school had drafted a protocol proposing to build a model school with all infrastructure-academic block, laboratories , libraries , meeting hall, well equipped play ground, etc.. Would likely to start soon, in the outskirt of the town. The new place would certainly be a healthy and unpolluted environment in which all the students and faculties would breathe the air of all fresh and fragrance.
